Little breaths of fresh air

In our current home, we have limited space. My clothes once occupied three large closets in our home. With the birth of two beautiful boys, several years of marriage, and life you tend to accumulate some stuff. I have condensed my clothing down to the smallest closet in our home. It is odd that I ended up in this situation considering I am the only girl in this home.

I have been crushing on those velvet hangers recently. I was unsure if I was ready to make the investment of replacing all my hangers with such lovely pieces from heaven. I decided to use a portion of my birthday money and take the plunge. I concluded that they were thin and would help me maximize my space. So I went from this:

Yes! I was still using wire hangers. It was because they were thin and would allow me to hang more clothes in my itty bitty closet. Feel sorry for me yet?

To this:

Isn't she pretty?! Everyone all in a row. These hangers are like little breaths of fresh air. One of my two special requests when we build our next home is that I have an amazing closet to store my clothes and accessories. My second request is a large pantry to organize all my kitchen goodies. My third is a pool. (that was for the Mr. if he's reading ;)

Rub-a-dub-dub....a pretty tub

Like most of my decorating projects I spend hours researching online and reviewing magazines for just the right look. I take bits and pieces and put it all together in my head. For our master bathroom I see gray, white, yellow with black accents. I wanted the shower curtain to be fabulous, not a piece of plasticy smelling vinyl. So my search began..... hours later and I still can't find what I see in my head.

I start to get close when I turn the corner headed towards Anthropologie. I like the look of the shower curtain below, but it is a little too much. After all, I do share the bathroom with my husband.

Hmm,.... we might be onto something here.

Enter my version. A conversion of the two, sort of. I liked the smaller rows of ruffles. I haven't asked my husband, but I feel this is a more manly ruffle. If there is such a thing. hee hee. As you can see I have a way to go. This has been a fun sewing project, but a time consuming one. Updates to follow.
